The way of the spiritual adept

There are almost always disturbing rumours, distorted speculations and blaming accusations circulating around a Spiritual Adept, just as much as around a Shaman.
The Adept or Shaman rarely disputes these rumours and accusations and opinions. In fact, they are often left in place to serve a most unorthodox purpose. These obscure fears and ambiguous misgivings and unfulfilled expectations, that generate such rumours and ill-disposed judgments, serve to engender an impression among the seeking public that a Spiritual Adept or Shaman is not someone you should casually go to for your own egoic survival. These common criticisms of a Spiritual Adept or Shaman are often not dispelled, to ensure that only those who are not afraid of the inevitable contravention and neglect of demands for their own egoic safety go to such a One.
The Spiritual Adept or Shaman is then left to attend to what is Her or His Primary Function.
The Spiritual Adept’s Intelligence is not limited or bound to any social/cultural morals and expectations. He or She always exists in a place or loka between the human barrier of self-consciousness and the expanse of Universal Consciousness that all humans, creatures and plants are embedded in.
The Spiritual Adept or Shaman often acts as an intermediary between human self-consciousness and Universal Consciousness. The Human Spiritual Adept works most intimately with those who are willing to come into relationship with the exchange that takes place between self-consciousness and Universal Consciousness.
The Spiritual Adept’s primary allegiance, then, is not to the human society itself but to the Force of Nature in which all humans and all creatures and all existence are embedded.
The Spiritual Adept or Shaman is not a Function for humans alone. She or He is here to Awaken and restore our bodily ancestral reciprocity with the animate Earth. Their Function is to orientate us towards slipping out of our perceptual boundaries that demarcate us from a wholistic integration and relationship with other species on their terms.
When we restrict the body’s natural, wholistic spontaneity and diversity, essential to the life of all forms, we block energy in our body, or back-up energy in our body that becomes toxic as self-sorrow, violence, depression, lack of confidence, self-doubt, cynicism and resentment. We suffer all the forms of acceptable but unsatisfactory insanity.
