Satsang is Radical Understanding. And Radical Understanding is the Great Liberating Realisation
The understanding that enables the liberation of the Inherent-Self from the limitations of the ego-self is not an understanding that comes in the form of an answer that satisfies the ego-self.
Spiritually activated liberation is not strictly the outcome of questions and answers.
Questions and answers are, most generally, the method or way the “separate from Life individual consciousness” acquires information in the effort to advantageously manipulate oneself and/or the other or the situation, in order to attain the goal of one’s desire.
We are puzzled about something, about someone, their actions and so forth and we ask him or her why did you do this or not do that. We claim we want to understand her or him. However, is it understanding we seek or, rather, some information that will help adjust our discomposure, our frustration with the other?
Spiritual understanding IS liberation. Conventional understanding is not liberation from ego-consciousness, but, rather, merely further accumulation of knowledge by the self-concerned ego towards its goal of self-survival.
Understanding from the conventional self-conscious point of view is more knowing added to the self-consciousness.
Understanding from the radical impersonal-conscious point of view is a moment of tacit Realisation.
What is generally called understanding is an understanding based in the conventional separative-conscious point of view.
Spiritual Understanding (or Real Understanding) is understanding based in Satsang; direct Life Communion.
Understanding that arises within the whole body feeling of impersonal union with all manifest life (Satsang) is not more information for the ego but, rather, freedom from the ego.
Real understanding is not an answer. Real understanding sets you free from the apparent problem altogether. Spiritual Practice (which is essentially Spiritual Understanding) is not an answer to one’s unhappiness, one’s search for the ideal life or lover and so forth. Spiritual Understanding is not an answer to other people’s behaviour. Spiritual Practice does not arise or makes its way on the basis of the right answers. Spiritual Practice is not the practice of knowing the right answers, having possession of the right answers. It is not a method by which you know the “right judgments” of or for others.
If you are pursuing this engagement with me, this process of real understanding with me in order to find the right answers you will vacillate between bouts of “ah, got it” and “damn, but I thought you said….” You will alternate between states of disappointment, confusion and self-satisfied success.
Realisation of your Inherent Nature, your Self-Divine does not arise out of the knowledge of an answer. An answer to what and to whom?
Understanding Is the Realisation in any moment of the Inherent Nature of all. It is not an answer to the problems created in the ignorance of the Inherent Nature of all.
The process that IS Spiritual Practice is a process of understanding, a process that results in Realisation which leads to further understanding which results in expanded Realisation which leads to deeper understanding and on and on…
Where does it end? Where does the Universe end?
Where do you begin and end?
